Creating a Comfortable, Calm Space At Home​

You may not be completely ready to take the next step, and that’s okay. You are on your own journey and you get to set your own pace. So in the mean time, you might as well set up a relaxing space, free from judgement and criticism. Make it comfortable and calming, setting it up somewhere you can have privacy. The best one’s are large enough to spread out and stretch, and cozy enough to curl up to. Having a personal sanctuary at home is essential for your healing journey. Here’s why:

Building Positive Association:

Using this space for relaxation, meditation, and introspection cultivates positive associations like comfort, safety, and a calm state of mind.

Healing The Inner Child:

Create an ideal space for your inner child by bringing all your favorite stuffed animals, blankets, and pillows inside to make it extra comfy. You can even create an indoor tipi or a blanket fort. Place special objects in the space for comfort and happiness. Creating a space that nurtures your inner child can foster vulnerability, acceptance, and future growth. In addition, coming back to this space day after day will create consistency and a bond that you and your inner child will cherish forever.

Establishing Routine:

The healing process thrives on healthy habits. A dedicated space serves as a reminder to prioritize self-care and self-discovery. Some examples of new habits are: self hypnosis, meditation, reading, journaling, acupressure, connecting within to notice how you feel, releasing emotions, affirmations, singing, and practicing gratitude.

Small Steps for Big Change:

Introducing elements like crystals, essential oils, journals, and comfort objects gradually introduces you to new healing practices.

Find Comfort Within

Strengthening your relationship with yourself is a key aspect of overall well-being. This involves creating a safe space within you, where self-reflection and self-kindness come together. To build this connection, practice taking time to understand your thoughts, feelings, and dreams. Mindfulness and self-care techniques can help. This inner space becomes a comforting haven, offering support during life’s ups and downs and helping you become emotionally resilient.
